Big E Shares Disheartening Update on Wrestling Return Ahead of New Day’s 10th Anniversary Celebration

“Big E Reflects on Wrestling Career and Life Beyond the Ring Ahead of New Day’s 10th Anniversary

As Big E joins the New Day 10th anniversary celebration on WWE Raw, his recent remarks suggest that his wrestling career may be over.

The New Day, formed in 2014 by Big E, Xavier Woods, and Kofi Kingston, started as a desperate effort to revive their individual careers but grew into one of the most legendary tag teams in WWE history. Unlike many teams, they achieved both tag team greatness and individual success, with Kofi and Big E winning WWE Championships and Woods earning the King of the Ring crown.

However, everything changed in March 2022 when Big E suffered a neck injury during a match, sidelining him indefinitely. Over two years later, his return to the ring seems increasingly unlikely.

In a heartfelt column for The Players’ Tribune, Big E shared his perspective on his future:
“You know that thing I said earlier, how I’m someone who spent his past not being able to picture a future? I can picture one now. Which is ironic, I guess, since I broke my neck and can’t wrestle. But I’m at peace. And if that’s truly a wrap on my in-ring career, I’m excited to explore the paths that are opening up for me in its wake.”

He expressed excitement about opportunities outside wrestling, including hosting, acting, voice work, and filmmaking, adding:
“I feel like I’ve spent the last 10 years with Woods and Kofi on this amazing, life-changing project. And now I want to see how far I can stretch that project past wrestling.”

While Big E’s legacy in the ring is undeniable, his focus now lies on building a fulfilling life beyond wrestling. Unless there’s a dramatic change in his recovery, it appears his days as an active competitor are behind him.
