Despite the defeat, Sterling is determined to bounce back. The 35-year-old has now lost two of his last three fights after previously enjoying a nine-fight winning streak.

Sterling’s Post-Fight Reflections

Following the match, Sterling took to X to share his thoughts: > “Tough fight. I thought I might’ve edged it out against a tough opponent, but we came up short. Thank you all for the love and support. I hope the performance was a fun one for you all to watch.

> “Movsar is a beast. I showed where I belong in this division. For now, we decompress and heal up, then get ready to climb the ladder again. The dream doesn’t stop unless you give up. I’ll be back.”

The Fight Breakdown

While some, including Sterling, felt he might have edged out a win, the statistics told a different story. Evloev dominated with 136 total strikes compared to Sterling’s 45, and he also secured four takedowns. Sterling managed two takedowns but only attempted 67 strikes throughout the fight. In terms of significant strikes, both fighters landed a combined total of 20.

Evloev’s Continued Dominance

Movsar Evloev, a 30-year-old fighter from Russia, remains undefeated with a perfect 19-0 record. His last nine fights have all taken place inside the UFC’s Octagon, further establishing his reputation as a formidable opponent.
